About
M-PaX exists because the commercial side of a product is rarely built with the same care as the product itself.
The gap this was built to close
A founder solves a hard problem and builds something real. The product launches, clears whatever it has to clear, and sells. Then growth flattens.
The diagnosis changes from one company to the next. A sales problem. A product-market fit problem. A revenue problem. The root is almost always the same. Nobody ever built the Commercial Motion with the rigor the product got.
This is not a talent gap. The founders who hit this wall are capable people who can absolutely do the work. What they are missing is a map. Nobody hands out a complete, ordered account of what commercialization actually requires. M-PaX is that map.
Who built it
M-PaX Marketing was founded by Doug Hudiburg, who created the M-PaX System.
The System comes out of more than 30 years of product management across medical device, MedTech, and B2B technology, and hundreds of product implementations. Much of that work happened in regulated, high-stakes environments, where a missed step is expensive and a vague plan does not survive contact with a review. That is a demanding place to learn commercialization, and it is why the System is specific rather than inspirational.
The pattern showed up again and again. Technically excellent products, run by people who knew exactly how to build and had never been shown how to commercialize. The same handful of things were missing every time.
From practice to system
What is now the M-PaX System began as a consulting practice. The work was done for clients one product at a time, and the same structure kept surfacing underneath every engagement.
Eventually that structure was written down. It became 37 Growth Factors across five phases, each one naming something that has to be true for a product to reach its full potential. Not tips, and not a framework that stops at strategy. A complete, ordered system that covers the whole Commercial Motion.
Writing it down changed what it could be. A practice serves the clients it can reach. A published system serves anyone who finds it.
What M-PaX Marketing does now
Three things, and the first one is the point.
- The M-PaX System is free and public. Every phase, all 37 Growth Factors, no gate and no opt-in. It is published because a system that stays behind a wall does not help the people who need it most.
- ProductSage is the free platform that runs the System. Every Growth Factor becomes a Project you can track, with templates, training, and an assistant that drafts the documentation with you. Paid plans open up more when you are ready.
- M-PaX Marketing Services runs the System for you when you would rather hand it off than work it yourself.
What you build stays yours, in your own accounts. There is no black box to rent and no agency you have to depend on to get your work back.
A note on who this is for
The System is universal. It rests on fundamental commercial practice rather than on tactics that expire, and it fits any B2B company.
The near-term focus is MedTech, because that is where the examples are sharpest and where the pattern is easiest to recognize. A cleared, selling device with a website full of specifications and no plain statement of value is a story that plays out constantly. But the gap it describes is not a MedTech gap. It shows up wherever a technical founder owns the commercial outcome.
